Questions DFW owners ask about review replies, missed calls, and savings audits
Short answers first. Where an answer rests on someone else's rule or record, the source is linked at the end of the answer.
How should I reply to a bad Google review?
Keep the reply short, polite and about what the customer actually wrote. Thank them, apologize if the shop got something wrong, and ask them to call or email so you can sort it out privately. Don't argue, and don't share anything private about the customer or the job. Google's own tips for business owners say the same things: be professional and polite, keep it short, never share a reviewer's private information, and apologize when it's appropriate.

Will replying to a review change my star rating?
Not by itself. Google posts your reply publicly under the review and tells the reviewer you replied. The reviewer can still change their review after reading it, and if they do, the review's date changes to the date of the update.

Should I reply to good reviews too?
Yes, but skip the identical thank-you on every one. Google suggests putting your effort into replies where you can add something, like a helpful update or an answer to a question. A line about what the customer actually said reads better than a template.

How long does it take for my reply to show up on Google?
Google checks each reply against its content policies before posting it. Google says that usually takes up to 10 minutes and sometimes up to 30 days. The reply shows as coming from your business, and your personal name isn't shown.

Can I offer a discount to get a review changed or removed?
No. Google prohibits offering free or discounted goods or services in exchange for posting, changing or removing a review. If you believe a review breaks Google's content policies, you can flag it instead. Reply Desk drafts never offer refunds, discounts or free work in public.

What does an answering service cost in Dallas?
I can only speak for my own. DFW Phone Desk answers the calls you miss for $69/month for your first 3 months for signups through January 31, 2027, then $149/month. When you compare it with other services, ask each one the same four questions: does it bill by the minute, by the call or by the month; do nights and weekends cost extra; is there a setup fee; and what happens to calls past a plan's limit. Then you're comparing the same thing.
What's in the free review-reply audit?
It covers one location. Within 2 business days of your yes, you get a count of how many of your newest 30 Google reviews have an owner reply, the reviews that still need a reply (low stars and recent first), ready-to-paste reply drafts for up to 3 of them, and one short suggestion for keeping up with new reviews. You won't need a login or a card.
What is the Review Reply Sprint?
It is a one-time service for shops with unanswered Google reviews. For $49, we write owner replies to up to 10 of your shop's unanswered reviews and deliver them within 2 business days. You post the ones you like. If you start Reply Desk afterward, the full $49 is credited toward your first month. If you do not start, nothing further is charged, and the replies are yours to keep. The free sample, with draft replies for up to 3 reviews, is still available if you would rather start there.
How does the free missed-call check work?
After you say yes in writing, I place 3 test calls to your main line at times you pick from a short list. If someone answers, I say right away that this is the test call you asked for. Within 1 business day of the third call, you get a one-page note with the time of each call, whether it was answered and how many rings before pickup, and, if it went to voicemail, whether the greeting was your own, whether it gave hours or another number, and whether the box took a message. No recordings and no follow-up calls.
What is the 7-night Phone Desk pilot?
It is a paid week of the real service. For a one-time $49, DFW Phone Desk answers your after-hours calls for 7 nights, pages urgent calls to your on-call tech, and sends a short report each morning on what came in. If an urgent call during the pilot is not paged within 10 minutes, the $49 is refunded. If you start Phone Desk afterward, the full $49 is credited toward your first month. If you do not start, nothing further is charged, and the morning reports are yours to keep.
Do you need my Google login, and do you post replies for me?
No to both. I work only from your public Google profile. You post the replies you like, and I never post anything myself.
How much is Reply Desk?
Reply Desk is $149 a month. Signups through January 31, 2027 are $99 a month for the first 3 months with code REPLYDESK99, then $149 a month. The review-reply audit is free.
Which areas do you serve?
Owner-run shops across Dallas-Fort Worth, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Irving, Arlington, Frisco, McKinney, Garland, and Grand Prairie. The review audit works only from your public Google profile, and the missed-call check happens by phone, so I don't need to come by.
What's in the free savings audit?
Your vendor contracts, insurance declarations page, and recent utility bills, reviewed line by line. Within 5 business days you get a one-page note with each finding, the line it came from, and the yearly dollar amount. I never contact your vendors, never change anything, and never share your numbers.
How much is Savings Desk?
No up-front fee. If the audit finds savings, I take 25% of the first year's savings. If it finds nothing, you pay nothing.
